The ABYSO welcomed Polish Cellist Magdalena Sas to Antigua for a three week in person cello workshop. Magdalena enjoys a unique and versatile career as a performer, teacher, music advocate and social entrepreneur and is the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.
Magdelena has been an online mentor with the ABYSO Academy for the past two years. The visit gave her the opportunity to meet her students in person as well as introduce new students to the cello. The workshops included individual and group sessions with the 5 ABYSO cellists, the 3 junior cellists and the 9 new cellists registered in the initial programme. Magdalena was also able to give technical tutoring support to local cello tutor Alfranique Joseph as part of the ABYSO Academy Train the Trainers programme.
The three weeks ended with a cello recital generously hosted by Paddy Prendergast at Lucky Eddi’s in English Harbour.
